Extended Practicum Orientation:
Tuesday, January 28, 2025 - 7:00 p.m.

Karen Sonday's Zoom Room

Practicum Dates and Times:
- Monday, February 10, 2025 - Thursday, May 22, 2025
- Mondays and Wednesdays OR Tuesdays and Thursdays
- Choose 5:00 p.m. and/or 6:00 p.m. Central (one or two students)
Prerequisite: Previous Training at Orton Gillingham Reading Specialists

Registration Deadline: Friday, January 24, 2025 - (space is limited)

Provides:
- Up to sixty (60) additional practicum hours. (When teaching two students.)
- Supervision and feedback from your OG Fellow.
- Three or four observations by Karen Sonday, OGA Fellow, including written and verbal feedback.
- Coaching during your certification application process.
- Students to work with during the practicum.
Tuition: $600.00 - three observations; $800 - four observations

Extended Practicum Terms and Conditions

Academic Terms:
- Participant understands that this course is provided online.
- Participant is responsible for knowing the course schedule.
- Participant will carry out Orton Gillingham sessions according to the parameters set forth in your previous OGRS training
- Participant understands that missing more than two sessions with a student - for any reason - may be cause for dismissal from the practicum.
- Participant understands that they must secure internet service and a computer that is able to handle the requirements of Google Classroom and Zoom.
- Participant will obtain and USE headphones in student sessions that have a microphone AND that cover the ear (not earbuds).
- Participant will present themselves in a professional manner when working with OGRS students. Please do not wear:
  - T-shirts with graphics or logos on them
  - Tank tops with no covering shirt, sweater, or jacket
  - Halter tops
  - Athletic or workout clothing
  - Sweatshirts or hoodies
  - Plunging necklines
  - Hats
- Participant understands that all reading and teaching materials provided by OGRS are the intellectual property of OGRS and may not be downloaded and will be unavailable for use after the cohort is over.
Financial Terms:
- Participant understands that the fee for the Extended Practicum remains the same whether they choose to teach one or two students during the practicum. You are paying for observations.
- Participant understands that the fee for the Extended Practicum Program is $600.00 for 3 observations or $800.00 for 4 observations.
- Participant understands that a $500 deposit is required to hold their spot in the program.
- Participant will be billed by email for the deposit immediately upon OGRS receipt of application; balance to be billed prior to the training start date.
- Participant understands that there is no refund of tuition paid once the practicum begins regardless of when a participant leaves.
- Participant understands that prior to the start of the course, they may apply their deposit to a later training program if needed.
Media Release:

I hereby give permission to Orton Gillingham Reading Specialists (OGRS) to take video images and sound of me during OGRS tutoring sessions.

I understand that these videos will be used ONLY for the purpose of teacher training in the OGRS teacher training program, and will not be used for the website, social media, or any other purpose.

I understand that I will be not be compensated for my participation in these videos, and I have no rights to this media at any time.
